SOFT's Old Age Home:
SOFT's Old Age Home was created with the intention of providing a safe and clean haven for the disadvantaged and marginalized elderly, particularly those without anybody to help or support them. It is our goal to provide accommodation, meals, clothing and other necessities for up to 200 men and women. Currently, we are hosting 23 elders (10 men and 13 women) in a makeshift lodging providing them with beds, clean clothes and meals. Most importantly SOFT will provide all residents with emotional support and a safe community to enjoy their old age. Your contribution is much needed to begin building our permanent Old Age Home facility.

SOFT Scholarships for Girls:
SOFT has launched a scholarship program for high school and college going girls. Students are selected based on merit and need. Currently 40 girls are receiving a monthly stipend to help pay for their educational needs. It is our goal that these girls will become leaders in their communities and serve the less fortunate. Our goal is to expand this program to provide opportunities to as many girls as possible. We can make this happen with your support!
Additionally SOFT has created a debating club to encourage students, especially girls, to discuss and debate social issues with a view to enhance their ability to think and analyze issues that affect them the most.

SOFT Farmer's Initiative:
SOFT is providing funding to a number of local farmers to purchase irrigation pumps to aid in their farming. Chilmari is an area that experiences frequent drought and this affects the farmer's abilities to grow their crops successfully. Irrigation pumps are expensive and hence inaccessible for these poor farmers. Through a profit sharing program, SOFT has purchased a number of pumps on behalf of the farmers with the commitment that the farmers will pay SOFT back once they start earning profit. Additionally, we plan to work with farmers to provide them with fertilizer, seeds and other tools to help their agricultural needs.The profits generated will be used to help fund our flagship program, SOFT's Old Age Home. SOFT Income Generation Activities:
Cow FatteningSOFT has provided 50 cows to 50 village women. After the cows are adequately fattened, they are sold at a premium price. The profits will be shared between the women and SOFT. The portion for SOFT will go towards funding it's flagship project- the SOFT Old Age Home. With your donation, we can increase the number of women we support through this innovative income generation scheme.

Poultry FarmingSOFT has provided funds to three groups of women to set up small scale poultry farms for raising chickens. Once the chicks are grown, they will be sold in the market for a premium price. This profit will be shared between the women and SOFT. SOFT's portion will go towards the upkeep of the SOFT Old Age Home. With your donation we can increase the number of women we provide support to in poultry farming!

Rickshaws for Unemployed Young menSOFT has purchased 35 rickshaws for 35 unemployed men on a loan basis so that they may earn an income to support themselves and their families. The rickshaw pullers will pay off this loan to SOFT for the cost of the rickshaw. Once the loan is paid, they will become the owners of their rickshaw and keep all the income for themselves. The interest repayments generated will support the upkeep of the SOFT Old Age Home. Help us support more unemployed men earn their own income!
